Your Face, Your Safety: Why Medical Expertise Matters for Aesthetic Treatments
Considering a wrinkle-smoothing treatment or dermal fillers in the UK? Your choice of clinic and practitioner is crucial for achieving natural-looking results and safeguarding your health.
Our TreatmentsWhat sets medical-led aesthetic clinics apart from beauty salons?
- Expertise: Our clinics are overseen by doctors, nurses, or dentists with extensive facial anatomy knowledge, ensuring safe and effective treatments.
- Safety: In the unlikely event of a complication, medical professionals are on hand to provide immediate care, minimising risks.
What qualifications should my aesthetic practitioner have?
- Registered: Look for GMC-registered doctors, NMC-registered nurses, or GDC-registered dentists.
- Certified: Ensure they have certifications in aesthetic medicine from reputable organisations like Save Face.
- Experienced: Ask about their experience with your desired treatment (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers) and view before-and-after photos.
How can I verify my practitioner's credentials?
- Ask: Don’t hesitate to request proof of qualifications and experience.
- Check: Verify registration on the appropriate professional register (GMC, NMC, GDC).
What are the risks of non-medical practitioners?
- Complications: Untrained individuals may misjudge treatment suitability, use incorrect techniques, and be ill-equipped to handle adverse reactions.
- Unsatisfactory Results: Inadequate training can lead to poor results, unevenness, or long-term damage.
Remember
- Prioritise your safety and well-being above all else.
- Research and choose a reputable clinic with qualified medical professionals.
- Ask questions and feel confident in your practitioner’s expertise.
